Volks Cars started trading as a Golf Gti specialist back
in 1992. The aim of our Company has always been simple – to
concentrate on selling well-prepared, top quality examples
of the Volkswagen model range, with a strong emphasis on
the original and best hot-hatch.

When
the Company started life, the Mark 3 Golf range had
only recently been launched. Since then, apart from
an extra two generations of Golf, Volks Cars has
also seen the introduction of a huge number of new
Volkswagens including the high quality Lupo city
car, the New Beetle, the stylish Passat, Sharan MPV
and, more recently, the Touran, Phaeton and Touareg.
Just
as the Volkswagen line-up has changed and expanded,
so has Volks Cars.

Current
owner Jon Wood started working for the Company back in 1995, having been a Volkswagen enthusiast
for some years. He took over the business from founder,
Peter Carrick, in 1999 when Peter moved into motoring
journalism. With the expanding Volkswagen range the
business expanded considerably.

To
take account of this expansion, Jon formed VW
Specialist Cars in 2002 and the business has
continued to grow. From small beginnings with two or three
top-notch Gti s on sale, Volks Cars quickly built
a good reputation with enthusiasts by selling only
the best cars available. |

By 1995 there were around
fifteen, carefully chosen cars in stock; today this has
grown even more and, of course, includes more recent
models such as Golf R32s, New Beetle cabrios, as well as other saloons, hatches and estates from the VW
range. However, Jon hasn’t forgotten his roots
and still scours the country for the very best examples of
classic models, like the Mk2 Golf Gti and Corrado VR6
which are always in demand.

the deal doesn’t end there. We value our existing
customers and can offer a wide variety of after-sales
services, including bodywork to high standards and electrical
diagnostic and installation work, with alarms and ICE a
